Now she is creating flavors originally born from her Nana's and Mom's very own home recipes for you to enjoy! Her dressings & marinades are made only with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, she adds no sugars and keeps them low-sodium too! For the health minded customer, Melissa produces her 2 flavors as vegetarian & diabetic friendly (even the Garlic Vinaigrette is Gluten & Soy Free). With the suggestion by many, and the encouragement from her husband, Melissa said “so long” to the corporate world and took a chance in beginning her new food business venture. Since then, Melissa has been blessed with positive support from those who have tried her products and has not looked back!

Our Story
The first product we introduced is a Garlic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing & Marinade. The dressing is based on Natascha Marks (Melissa’s mom) homemade salad dressing recipe. In the winter of 2004, Sis’ Meliss Family Recipes began by selling the Garlic Vinaigrette Dressing & Marinade at Los Angeles-based Farmer's Markets located in Silverlake, Brentwood and West Hollywood.Sis Meliss Family Recipes is a "ma company" being that it is woman-owned and operated. I am always striving to provide great and healthy products for folks to enjoy guilt-free.

Sis Meliss Family Recipes is truly a family business, started out of our apartment in Los Angeles, CA. Sis' Meliss Family Recipes consists of Melissa and Richard, who have been married since May 2004. Richard is originally from Denver, CO, and has a background in the public relations industry. Melissa, a true native of Los Angeles, CA, has a professional background in Radio Broadcasting in front of and behind the microphone.
Most importantly, Melissa has always loved to cook and feed her loved ones! For years, our first product (the Garlic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing & Marinade) has been a favorite among Melissa’s family and friends. With the suggestion by many, and the encouragement from her husband, Melissa said “so long” to the corporate world and took a chance in beginning her new food business venture.
Since then, Melissa has not looked back and has been very blessed by the positive response. We also are very thankful for the tremendous support received from our family, friends and customers alike. We are excited in the near future to bring more of our recipes and dedication to quality to whomever would like a taste!
